A note on DC wiring: Best Practice Forget about red and black wires as you would find in a car. You'll be dealing mostly with AC wire bought from the supply house. BLACK becomes positive WHITE becomes negative BARE or GREEN is equipment ground Wire the whole system this way to prevent reversed polarities. (it takes mental practice, but will reduce risk of frying something)
